Gabi Perazza Young is a dual citizen of Brazil and the United States. She was born in São Paulo, Brazil and moved to the United States at the age of eleven. 


In 2007, Gabi received a B.S. in Neuroscience and a minor in Arts from the College of William & Mary. Following graduation, she sought to pair her passion in art with her interest in biological sciences in a career of medical illustration. 


In 2011, Gabi received a M.S. degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago in Biomedical Visualization, a program accredited by the CAAHEP in cooperation with the Association of Medical Illustrators (AMI) Accreditation Review Committee. Gabi is a Certified Medical Illustrator by the Board of Certification of Medical Illustrators. She has over a decade of experience in the illustration and design of medical and biological subjects. 


While working on her masters, Gabi was a Medical Illustrator Intern at the Journal of the American Medical Association where she published several illustrations.  Thereafter, Gabi received a citation of merit at the 2013 BioImages Award for graphics media in medical illustration.
